Guest sentiment
A snapshot of what local diners frequently mention about this location.
"We have dined at this restaurant twice, and on both occasions the service and food have been of a high standard. The average price is around $32, which I consider reasonable given that the dishes are not made from simple ingredients. They clearly require considerable effort and time to prepare, and this is reflected in the overall quality."
"First time here after reading so many good reviews. Didn’t disappoint. Ordered 4 dishes and they were all delicious. Service is efficient and polite. Will definitely be back to try other dishes on the menu."
"Nice hidden Malaysian gem in Notting Hill - parking can be a challenge as it has limited space up the ramp and at streetlevel. First time here, I ordered Roti Canai with Beef (Rendang). A generous portion, of beef and sauce, but an extra roti would have been nice. Looks like a popular place, a friend told me food is better than in Malaysia!"
"New Asian restaurant along Blackburn Road in Notting Hill, Victoria. We were extremely impressed by the level of attentive and quick service. Our orders were served very quickly. Their menu is very well presented with photos to help with our selection. The food was excellent, very tasty and very well presented too. We ordered, Homemade Volcano Tofu (our favourite), chinese Broccoli with oyster sauce, charcoal fish pot, Pig trotters in Thai style, and special spinach in broth soup. Every dish was excellent and very satisfying. We will be back to try out other dishes."
"Great Malaysian food! The tofu with pork is fragrant and tasty, tofu was soft and cooked really well. Salted egg pot with veggies is well seasoned and creamy. Thai inspired crispy chicken is crunchy and sauce is generous. Nyonya squid is very tender and flavourful. Recommended"
"The prices are very reasonable. I had the prawn laksa on my first visit at lunch time. I liked the prawn wrap especially. The laksa soup itself was ok. First time I've had it with black mushrooms. I have had more authentic laksa soup but the other dishes look enticing enough that I would come back and try them. For that first visit I gave it 3 out of 5 stars. But my subsequent visit with 13 other people for dinner where we ordered share dishes was when the place shone in it's culinary offerings. Every dish we had was absolutely delicious. They did such a great job with the okra as a dish and in the curries. We had fish curries, pork and tofu, chicken with a tantalizing sauce, yam and pork, soup, Chinese broccoli and others. It was for this subsequent visit that I gave this place 5 stars for the food. They have quite an extensive menu for lunch and dinner. There are small and large round tables that can seat about 10 people or even 14 at a very very tight squeeze. Entry to the restaurant is directly from the first floor carpark. Very convenient especially on rainy days as it is sheltered. But parking is very limited - if it's full, there is no easy way but to back all the way down. There is free street parking but watch out for the no standing signs. There are high chairs available for toddlers. Decor and ambience is basic in spite of large fancy digital screens on the wall which was such a juxtaposition."
"Surprisingly quick service even though the restaurant was busy. Great value and portion sizes. The volcano tofu was really tasty. The soup was delicious and had a real depth of flavour. Def worth a visit if you’re in the area."
"Delicious! Very thick chicken curry laksa can't stop keep trying next slup. Fish head noodle broth is rich, thick and full of flavour. And port soup noodle is another one not to miss. Price is acceptable. Highly recommended. Just be aware that their ramp up carpark is a single entry and exit so it's better park at the street parking."
